Stream Three funded project for 2013/14

Capture Colyton is a 24 month Place-Making Project that provides a creative opportunity to develop the capacities of residents to transform their social and physical spaces and to enhance and nurture relationships between generations and diverse cultures within the Colyton Community. Based around the Hewitt Street Shops in Colyton the project will utilise a number of artists, creative mediums and spaces to activate the suburb. These projects include the PhotoVoice Project where participants will learn photography skills and develop their visual storytelling capacities, exploring their relationship with place. The Mural Project where participants will work with an artist to design and produce a mural for a large blank wall at the shopping complex. The project concludes with The Sustainability Workshops, aimed at identifying future place-making projects and fostering ongoing relationships between participants and partners. Many of the local business owners at the Hewitt Street shopping complex will support the project. Participation in the project will be open to all Colyton residents. The St. Clair Youth and Development Team will work collaboratively Colyton Trade High School to give students the opportunity to be involved in the workshops.

Location: Hewitt Street, Colyton
Date: Throughout 2013-2014 (specific dates TBA)
