Nepean Young Pregnancy Support (NYPS) – The Creative Project is designed to challenge stereotypes about young parents and create a banner for display that represents the women in the group. With the assistance of an artist, the banner will represent all the incredible strengths these young mothers have to offer and through visual mediums, will tell a story about their journeys before this point, and the incredible journey to come. This process will run over a 5 month period and will engage up to 50 young pregnant people, their supports and in some cases, their new babies. Through celebrating the journey and discussing strengths, it is expected that the young women will feel a greater sense of ownership over the group, form stronger friendships within the group, and strengthen their sense of belonging within their community. NYPS is a group that runs in conjunction with a midwife service in "The Cottage" adjacent to The Warehouse Youth Service Centre in Penrith.
Location: The Cottage, 13 Reserve Street Penrith

Date: Weekly, Tues 10am-12pm
